In the Front Yard...

My mom came over and weeded out my flower bed in the front yard. You know something's wrong when your weeds are large enough that she mistakes them for a plant you actually want to keep, as in the case of this large milkweed plant on the right:

Oops.

On a more positive note, my Cana Lily is still doing well!

Genesis 1:6-8

This starts a new series of photographs, which I will call Scripture Pix. I will read a section of Scripture and take a photograph in some way related to that text. Since this blog is more for eye-candy than reading, I will link over to my other blog, Critical Mass, where I may discuss the images in greater detail. :) Enjoy!

This doesn't look like a photo of anything, but it is a photo of the lovely cloudless blue sky that we are blessed with today:

Sneak Peek

Okay, so I am currently working on a "top secret" project, which you can probably guess if you think about it long enough. :) I can't wait to share the end result with you, but for now, I will share a couple of "safe" pictures to whet your appetite. :)

Artwork by Jaibee

After a co-worker suggested that I take my camera with me on my trip up north last weekend, because I *can't draw*, I have decided to ... draw ... some of my recent experiences.

This is my favorite, of Fr. John in the Dunk Tank. :) It is a priceless original drawing. Unique. You can have the pleasure of viewing a scan of the original art; however, the actual piece will be signed, framed and given as a gift. :)

OLGC Parish Picnic

Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010

We pull into Plymouth after our weekend trip to the U.P. and OLGC is having a parish picnic, celebrating 90 years as a parish and 10 years in the new church building.

Obviously, the highlight for me was Fr. John in the Dunk Tank. Sadly, it didn't happen, but I had been trying to gather a small horde of pitchers to come out.... Maybe even some minor leaguers.... Alas.

An interesting event was the Marshmallow Driving Competition. Now, I hate marshmallows. With a passion. Seeing them die the 9-iron death.... Beautiful. :)

Here's a few photos from the picnic, mostly of the Dunk Tank because... I love the Dunk Tank. :)

Of course, my favorite pictures are:

Upper Peninsula Weekend Getaway

This weekend, Katie and Joe went with me to the Upper Peninsula to see Pictured Rocks. We ended up seeing Tahquamenon Falls while we were up there, and got to go to Mass Sunday morning at the National Shrine of the Cross in the Woods! It rained a bit during my boat tour of the Rocks, but we were blessed by overall cooperative weather. :)

Here are "just a few" of the pictures that I took:
Enjoy! :)
