I'm in a Project 52 group on Facebook, and I have to admit that I haven't been keeping up with it the way I would like to.  However, for our last week -- 52/52 -- we had to pick our favorite picture from 2014.

This is an agave plant, which only flowers once in its lifetime, then dies. It is about 80 years old and is currently flowering. Very cool to be able to see this!

Stats and Stuff

Out of curiosity... I have all (well, most) of my pictures backed up to my Flickr account. Flickr keeps track of how many pictures you take, when, etc. And since I had some free time on my hands, I thought I'd take a look and see how many pictures I took each year.

It turns out that, on average, I take 4,637 photos a year (at least since 2008). Here are the stats for each year, as well as a photo from the month in that year with the most photos taken:

My sincere apologies to anyone who has taken the time to leave me a message! I didn't realize it until a few minutes ago that my blog wasn't set up to let me know that I had a comment. And there wasn't any indicator of comments when I logged on to post. So I assumed that no one commented.

Which means that I have just read comments which were left for me, including ones over 2 years old! Hopefully, I've fixed that.

I promise I didn't ignore you on purpose!
